Terms of Use

The deal

Couple Lock is a subscription. One subscription covers two phones: the person who subscribes, and the partner who joins with their code. The joining partner is never charged.

Billing

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. Yearly plans may include a free trial; if you do not cancel before the trial ends, the yearly price is charged. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your Apple ID settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Refunds are handled by Apple.

The lock

The app pauses the apps you choose using Apple's Screen Time. It runs on your own phone, under your own control. It never controls your partner's phone and your partner never controls yours. You can turn the lock off at any time from the You tab, or from Settings, Screen Time.

Your content

What you send is yours. You give us permission to store it and deliver it to your partner, and nothing else. Do not send anything illegal, or anything of a person who has not agreed to it.

Ending it

You can stop any time by cancelling the subscription and deleting the app. Use Delete my data in the You tab if you want your content removed from our servers too. We can close accounts that break these terms.

No guarantees

We build this carefully, but it comes as is. We are not responsible for a missed message, a lock that did not lift on time, or anything that follows from using the app. Where the law lets us limit liability, it is limited to what you paid us in the last twelve months.
